Berhampur: Two contract killers were injured in a police encounter near Karnoli village, 6km from Aska town, on Tuesday morning.

Aska sub-divisional police officer Aska Subash Chandra Panda identified the two as Uttar Pradesh resident Laxman Singh Rajput and Tuna Gouda of Kodala in Ganjam.

The police said Aska resident Jitu Bishoi had allegedly hired Rajput and Gouda to eliminate "someone" in Ganjam district.
