Chief minister Naveen Patnaik hands over a cheque for a disabled kid to his mother during a two-day camp for the disabled in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

Some 1,654 persons registered at the special camp for Persons with Disabilities (PwD), which concluded on Saturday.

The chief minister distributed four cheques as disability pension, three hearing aids to persons with hearing impairment, eight wheelchairs and one tri-cycle at the camp. Naveen said at the event that Odisha had always laid emphasis on welfare initiatives for the disabled and thus became a model state in the country in this regard.

Praising the multi-facility Bhima Bhoi Samarthya Sibira on the occasion of its concluding session, at Unit-VIII Community Centre, Naveen termed the physically challenged as the "pride of the nation''.
