Feng shui helps create chi, or positive energy, in the classroom and creates a harmonious and productive environment for students and teachers. If you are an insightful teacher, then the ideas mentioned below could help you and your pupils.

Observation

To increase the flow of positive energy in a given environment, feng shui concentrates on providing harmony with the five essential elements of the universe — water, wood, fire, earth and metal. Attempt to locate these five elements in your empty classroom. Observe what exactly you see? Most specifically, wood and metal are the dominant design elements that you view. Start to think about the process in which you can include the other three elements to your room.

Clear the clutter

As soon as the classroom is empty, click a picture of the room and expand it. Later, think and have an objective glance of what others precisely view when they come inside the classroom. Consider a black marker to stress on those three areas that instantly grab your attention, and assign those places for clean-up within a month but not early.

Light therapy

Think of work for students to do under the natural light, or create work locations close to the classroom windows. If there is a dearth of windows, arrange floor lamps to use in various classroom locations to offer a rare transition in lighting. Additionally, you can have a small work light over your desk to turn it on whenever you are doing paperwork.

Tune in

Play classical music in the classroom whenever possible to calm down nerves.

Fun with water

Place an aquarium or fish bowl, a water garden, or mini tabletop fountain to set up the perfect learning atmosphere.

Nature study

Infuse a fresh lease of life into your teaching arena with earth-toned colours, live plants and snaps / artworks of landscapes and waterscapes.
