LPG consumers will be able to get subsidy directly in their bank accounts even if they don’t have Aadhaar numbers. Chief area manager of Indian Oil K.K. Mishra said the modified direct benefit transfer of LPG (DBTL) scheme, which has already been launched in 54 districts across the country on November 15, would roll out in the state from January 1. The oil companies aim to cover all consumers in Odisha within six months. At present, there are around 28 lakh consumers in the state. Earlier, the scheme was launched on June 1, 2013 and had covered 291 districts across the country, including seven in Odisha. But it was stopped following a Supreme Court directive.
