Bhubaneswar: Film enthusiasts have reason to cheer as Cuttack's first multiplex was inaugurated on Friday.
The new Inox, with four screens and 830 seats, will be first four-screen one in Odisha. The state's only other multiplex in Bhubaneswar has three screens.
The multiplex has been built on a 60,000sqft in the same place where Durga-Devi, two theatres stood earlier near the Town Hall.
The multiplex has 2K digital projection system, 3D-enabled screens and distortion-free digital surround sound. Guests can also enjoy food and beverage while watching films.Inox Leisure Limited CEO Alok Tandon said: "We are pleased to continue expanding our footprint in the east. This is our first multiplex in Cuttack... We hope to continue serving our guests with luxury, service and comfort."
Visitors can look forward to a shopping mall, gaming zone and food court with adequate parking provision. The mall-cum-multiplex has been built at a cost of Rs 25 crore.
Till now, film buffs in Cuttack who went to Bhubaneswar to watch films, are very excited with the development.
"Theatres in Cuttack lacked modern equipment, attractive ambience, facilities and proper seating arrangements. Now, we can watch a film in luxury in our city," said Sushree Mishra, a student of Ravenshaw University.
In October 2014, Sangam Theatre, Cuttack's the first cineplex, helped improve the film-going experience to a considerable extent. The 660-seat cineplex is equipped with a 7.1 Dolby digital sound system along with two-way screening projectors.
