Cuttack/Kendrapara Sept. 9: The crime branch has detected documents pertaining to several land deals made by Trilochan Mishra, the eldest son of self-styled spiritual leader Surendra Mishra alias Sura.
Sources said Trilochan had invested in several properties and purchased plots in several parts of the country, including Bihar and Bengal.
It is suspected that Trilochan had cleared most of the land deals by diverting funds generated from his father's ashram. A detailed probe has also been launched to ascertain how the funds were diverted as well as the assistance of a chartered accountant has been sought.
The deposits made by Trilochan, his father Sura and brother Biranchi in several bank accounts and transfers are also being scrutinised, along with the ashram's income and expenditure statement. Most of the land purchased by Sura was made in the name of Trilochan, whom the crime branch is interrogating.
Trilochan will be produced before court after his three-day extended remand ends on Thursday. On September 5, the investigating agency had found 300-odd land documents during a massive search conducted at the Trahi Achyut Ashram.
