Bhubaneswar, June 13: The Regional Science Centre turned into a hub of creative and eccentric art for a day as a sea of youngsters queued up in its auditorium for the audition of “93.5 Seconds to Fame”.
The organisers of the show, radio station 93.5 Red FM, have come up with the innovative idea of searching for young talents based on their 93.5 seconds of performance.
The first day of the audition, saw a young crowd, all ready with guitars and dance props to woo the audition judges, musician Manmath Mishra and dancer Bimbadhar Das.
Creativity was in the air as the crowd often broke into a song or a jig while waiting for their turn during the hectic audition round.
The scorching weather did play spoilsport, but that could not override the youngsters’ enthusiasm to get the easiest and shortest ticket to fame.

The participants showcased classical music, dance, bee boying, acting and painting. Based on individual scores 12 youths from the capital city will be selected for the quarterfinals that will be held on June 28.
“Though I am not a trained singer, I love music. The concept of 93.5 Seconds to Fame sounded interesting and I thought of giving it a try. I will sing yeh mera dil pyar ka deewana to impress the judges,” said Debashrita Tripathy, a student.
For students such as Subrat Dash, an opportunity like this is a dream come true. “I have been dancing ever since I started walking! I am the member of a dance group in the city and have been waiting for such an interesting opportunity for long. I am sure I will make it to the finale,” said Dash, a BBA student.
The auditions will be held in several other cities such as Balasore on June 16, Berhampur on June 19, Cuttack on June 25 and Angul on June 22. The semi-finals will include the top 16 contestants from all the five places and take place on June 30 and the grand finale will be on July 8.
