Bhubaneswar, May 26: The state government today said that the Plus Two result of the higher secondary board would be announced on June 1.

The results have already been delayed by more than a week this year.

"The results of Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) will be announced on June 1," said higher education minister Pradeep Panigrahi. The results would be announced at the secretariat conference hall at 10am on June 1.

"The results of science, arts, vocational education and commerce would be announced at the same time in Bhubaneswar and three zonal CHSE offices in Berhampur, Sambalpur and Baripada," said the minister.

Students can also collect the result booklets from the CHSE headquarters here and the zonal offices the same day.

This year, 3,71,920 students appeared at Plus Two examination in arts, science, commerce and vocational streams. They have been eagerly waiting for their results as the process was delayed. The evaluation of the answer sheets started on April 7. Earlier, the council had set a deadline to complete the process by April 24. They had later extended it for another week. The authorities admitted that the teachers, who were e-evaluating the answer sheets for the first time, took some time to get accustomed to the software and other technical aspects.

Around four lakh answer scripts of 94,952 students from the science stream have been evaluated at 28 evaluation centres. The manual evaluation of arts and commerce papers, which started on March 31, has been completed.

CHSE chairman Basudev Chattoi said: "The tabulation of marks have begun and will be completed soon."

However, apprehending trouble from students and their parents, the authorities have decided to make the process of applying for re-addition of marks online from this year. The students will have to apply online and the payment would be done through State Bank Collect, which is a State Bank of India initiative.
