Call for balance in data privacy

Bhubaneswar: Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad inaugurated a state-of-the-art facility that will offer IT services on Saturday.

Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), an organisation under Union ministry of electronics and information technology, will operate the facility - STPI ELITE.

"There is a need to strike a balance among data availability, data utility, data innovation, data enterprise and data privacy," said Prasad.

Sprawling across three acres at Idco Knowledge Zone, the facility is a mix of both modern and traditional architectural design and will house STPI's next generation incubation facility, fabrication lab, incubation and data centre to cater to the needs of the IT, Information Technology Enabled Service and Electronic System Design & Manufacturing industries.

Its incubation program will offer network operation centre, high speed data communication, cloud services, plug and play, semi-furnished and co-working IT space, language lab, and other modern building management and common services.

"STPI's effort to start such an innovative model will spearhead the creation of employment, business growth in Odisha," said Prasad.
