Bhubaneswar: The state administration on Saturday asked district collectors to impose strict laws against unscrupulous traders. The decision comes following the prices of pulses remaining high despite a decision by the government to revise VAT imposed on the items. 

Manhunt

Balasore: Police on Saturday launched a manhunt to nab the robbers who looted Rs 4.70 lakh cash from two men on Friday. Three robbers had attacked Sanjay Jena and Debasis Das — two supervisors of a company — with sharp weapons while they were returning  from a bank with the cash.

Bail denied

Bhubaneswar: The three accused in a double murder case in Nabarangpur district were produced in a court on Saturday.  The three — Ramdeb Gond, Sadhu Gond and Pradhan Gond were denied bail and sent to jail custody.

BJP meeting

Bhubaneswar: The BJP will hold a meeting at its office here on Sunday to discuss the state's law and order situation along with the issue of Central assistance to Odisha, BJP spokesperson Sajjan Sharma said on Saturday.
