NIT arrest

Rourkela: Police on Sunday arrested the chief security officer of NIT, Rourkela, Balaram Champatiray. He had been evading arrest since May 29 after two women security guards came forward and lodged sexual exploitations complaints against him. He was sent to jail after a local court rejected his bail plea.

Bhubaneswar: The Daitapati Niyog of Puri Jagannath temple on Sunday decided to allow devotees to touch the deities on Snan Purnima. The Niyog will submit a proposal to the temple administration, which had earlier decided against allowing the practice.
