Factory demand

Bhubaneswar: Local residents  under the banner of Right to Fight on Wednesday staged a rail roko at Kantabanji station demanding a rail wagon factory be set up in the district. The protesters sat on the tracks, disrupting train services on the route. The Puri-Ahmedabad Express had been stuck at the station for over two hours as a result of the protest.   

Two killed

Dhenkanal: Two persons were killed when a truck collided head-on with another truck near Kamakhyanagar in Dhenkanal district. The drivers of both the trucks were killed on spot. However, police have yet to identity the two bodies.

AIIMS surgery

Bhubaneswar: AIIMS Bhubaneswar will conduct open-heart surgeries shortly, according to authorities. The institute has already recruited doctors for 32 departments. Recruitment for 10 newly-opened departments, including cardiac and CTVS, has also ended.   

Juvenile

Baripada: The juvenile justice board sent two juveniles from Basinga to a correction home for kidnapping two minor girls of their locality.
