CM on PAN 

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to exempt people from scheduled areas from producing PAN details for deposits above Rs 50,000 in banks. Naveen said due to poor presence of banks, many people are not used to the banking system.

Demonetisation 

Bhubaneswar: The situation arising out of demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes is becoming normal in the state, said chief secretary A.P. Padhi.

7th pay panel 

Bhubaneswar: The fitment committee for implementation of recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission for state government employees on Friday started its deliberations with the representatives of various employees’ organisations. 

Raahgiri

Bhubaneswar: Raahgiri will be back on Sundays from November 27, said tourism and culture minister Ashok Panda on Friday. The event, which started from January 17, was suspended during the monsoon.
