Projects for Red zone

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik today assigned the monitoring of development works in four backward and Maoist-affected districts to four senior bureaucrats. While member of revenue board Ashok Kumar Tripathy will monitor the development works in Nuapada, additional chief secretary to the chief minister Aditya Prasad Padhi will look after Kandhamal district. Development commissioner Upendra Nath Behera and additional chief secretary (finance) R. Balakrishnan have been assigned Malkangiri and Nabarangpur districts respectively. The chief minister will review the development activities of these districts every month.

Body found

Baripada: The body of a missing boy was found inside a water tank at Bijatola on Tuesday. Muna Paisun, 12, had been missing since Sunday. 

Minerals

Bhubaneswar: Chief secretary Gokul Chandra Pati on Tuesday directed the district collectors and police superintendents concerned to prosecute the individuals, organisations and transport agencies creating hurdles in the transport of minerals. 

Pre-test delay

Bhubaneswar: The Block Grant High School Teachers and Employees Association has decided to defer the High School pre-test examinations to September 22.
