Heart centre

Bhubaneswar: The state government will set up a 50-bed advanced cardiac care centre at Jharsuguda in PPP mode. All equipments for the hospital will be provided by the public sector Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL). A 6.5-acre land has already been identified for the purpose. 

KIIT event

Bhubaneswar: A daylong cultural extravaganza featuring youngsters from 31 countries will be held on August 16 at KIIT University. The fest, titled ‘Global Village’, is organised by the youth-run organisation AIESEC. More than 10 international cultures will be represented at the event through dance, food, music and art. Around 500 school and college students are expected to take part in the event.

New courts

Bhubaneswar: The state government on Monday decided to set up six additional district judge courts and family courts. Three additional district and sessions courts would be set up at Nimapara in Puri district, Karanjia in Mayurbhanj district, Athmallik in Angul district while one additional district cum special vigilance court would be set up at Sundargarh, Angul and Cuttack. Similarly two family courts would come up at Nabarangpur and Boudh.

Adarsh station

Balasore: The Basta station has been selected to be renovated under the Adarsh Station Scheme. The railway ministry has included this on a request by local MP R.K. Jena.

Body found

Berhampur: The body of Kumari Rana, 50, was recovered from a pond in Sahadev Tikarpada village under K Nuagaon police station on Thursday. Police suspect property dispute to be the reason behind the killing.
