Oram booed

Rourkela: Residents of Vedvyas on the city outskirts on Saturday received Sundargarh MP and Union tribal affairs minister Jual Oram with “go back” slogan as the minister arrived at the local crematorium where the final rites of the seven accident victims were being performed. Seven persons died on Friday when a Scorpio they were travelling in fell into a river near Khunti. At Oram’s arrival, the situation became so tense that his guards almost had to put a shield around him. He, however, said: “It was a crowd sentiment. They were expecting help since I am a Central minister.”

CM in Delhi

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik has left for Delhi on a four-day visit. He will discuss the state's financial condition with Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. He will return on Tuesday.

Car thief held

Bhubaneswar: Police have arrested a car thief, Manoj Patra, 30, for stealing a car from a person on the pretext of test-driving the vehicle. The cops also seized two cars and one motorcycle from him that he had allegedly stolen from Cuttack. 

Utkal move

Bhubaneswar: Utkal University has asked all non-students to vacate hostel rooms.
