Teacher held

Bhubaneswar: Police on Wednesday arrested a schoolteacher for allegedly molesting a Class-VII student in a coaching centre. The mathematics teacher, Hemant Kumar Nayak, was held after the victim's mother had filed a police complaint.

CM directive

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday asked the district collectors through a videoconference to ensure that all ineligible applicants for National Food Security Act are deleted from the list.

Utkal arrest

Bhubaneswar: One more student has been arrested by the police in connection with the Utkal University clash. Earlier, the cops had arrested eight students for the clash, which had left several injured on the campus.

Road mishap

Sambalpur: Two persons, including a woman died after their car skidded off the road and fell into the power channel of Hirakud dam near National Highway No. 6. The deceased have been identified as Rakesh Jha, 39, and Shanti, 25.
