Bhubaneswar: Pradesh Congress Committee president Prasad Harichandan will hold a meeting with the party MLAs on July 30 to discuss party affairs. Congress Legislature Party leader Narasingha Mishra will also be present at the meet.

Cuttack: Orissa High Court’s 67th foundation day was observed on Sunday. To mark the occasion, the statue of the first Chief Justice of the high court Bira Kishore Ray whose death anniversary also falls today. A memorial lecture was also held to mark the occasion. The memorial committee felicitated senior advocate Bipin Behari Ratho. President of the Confederation of Indian Bar P. H. Parekh delivered the memorial lecture.
Utkal unrest
Bhubaneswar: The situation inside the Utkal University remained normal on Sunday, as police personnel were deployed there throughout the day. Tension had prevailed at the varsity on Monday following the assault on a youth. The arrested persons, including three students, were sent to jail following rejection of their bail plea by a local court.
Strike call
Angul: Talcher residents have decided to go for a one-day economic strike on July 28 as nothing concrete came out from the high-level meeting, presided by chief minister Naveen Patnaik, on starting the academic session at the medical college here. The decision was taken at a meeting of, which was attended by leaders from all sections. During the strike, all industrial activities, coal production and dispatch in particular, will be totally paralysed,
