Panchayat poll clash

Bhubaneswar: Five BJP workers and two BJD workers were injured in a clash between two parties at a weekly market at Gona in Raighar area of Naba-rangpur district on Friday. The clash between two political groups erupted during an election campaign. In another incident, three people were injured in a clash between two groups over panchayat polls near Brahmagiri in Puri.

Security meet

Phulbani: DGP K.B. Singh on Friday held a meeting to review security measures for the rural polls in Kandhamal. He discussed security situation, deployment of security personnel and smooth conduct of polls in the Maoist-affected areas of the district. Nine companies of CRPF, five SOG teams and 50 voluntary force personnel will be deployed in Maoist-affected areas of Kandhamal.
