Bhawanipatna: The Unemployed CT and BEd Association of Kalahandi, which has been staging protest for the past two months demanding district cadre for the posts of para-teachers, has alleged that many applicants from outside the district are found to have produced forged mark sheets during verification of documents.
Association members, who are also aspirants for the posts, said they would take to the streets and not allow anyone selected on the basis of fake mark sheet to work in the schools of the district. The association requested the Odisha Primary Education Programme Authority to cancel the recruitment process and take up an inquiry for scanning the mark sheets, the applicants had produced during the verification process.
Association president Anudipta Joshi said many aspirants from other districts, who applied for the para-teachers' posts, had also applied for that of contractual teachers in Kalahandi schools in 2014-15.
"Many, who had applied for the contractual teachers' posts in 2014-15, also applied for the posts of para-teachers this time. But, the BA and BEd mark sheets, they have produced during verification, are completely different from the ones they had produced in 2014-15," said the association president.
"We want cancellation of the recruitment and an inquiry by the authority into the matter. We will move court if steps are not taken to address the issue of fake mark sheets," he said.
The Unemployed CT and BEd Association of Kalahandi have been protesting against the state government for the past two months demanding district cadre for the para-teachers' posts.
They disrupted the para-teacher aspirants' document verifications as large-scale applicants from outside the districts had been invited to take part in it. Later, documents of the candidates from outside the district were verified in Khurda DIET.
On January 31, the association observed a strike in Bhawanipatna to press for their demand of district cadre for the para-teachers' posts.
