Diana Nicole Kharshandi (centre) was declared Mrs Shillong 2006 at a contest organised by the Lions Club of Shillong Florentine at the state central library on Saturday. Ruprekha Dey and Alfauren Sawian were the first and second runners-up respectively.
The main objective of the pageant was to garner public support and funds for a campaign against hepatitis and diabetes.
The proceeds from the event will be used to set up a permanent hepatitis vaccination centre at the Indian Red Cross Society centre on Howell Road, Laban, Shillong.
