United hold Zomi FC 2-2

United Sporting Association held Zomi FC 2-2 to share a point each in the 10th Manipur State League, 2015, played at Mapal Kangjeibung.  The drawn game got United Sporting Association to 11 points while Zomi FC have nine points after playing their last league in the 11th round and are placed among the last four among 12 teams in the league.

Imphal, Oct. 29: United Sporting Association held Zomi FC 2-2 to share a point each in the 10th Manipur State League, 2015, played at Mapal Kangjeibung. 

The drawn game got United Sporting Association to 11 points while Zomi FC have nine points after playing their last league in the 11th round and are placed among the last four among 12 teams in the league. 

Zomi FC took just eight minutes to open their account when Phungtanlian capitalised on a pass from Ginminlun. 
However, United Sporting drew level within 10 minutes through Ch. Risk and took the lead in the second half when S. Surchand Singh consolidated in the 58th minute with assistance from Palmei Lanchalung Kabui.  

Zomi’s Gagou Hangshing got the equaliser in the 59th minute off a cross from Ginminlen to make it 2-2.  

Two United players, M. Dhanachandra and O. Abung and Zomi FC player Thangminlun got a yellow card in the match. 

FC Zalen have 19 points while Anouba Imagi Mangal have 22 at the end of their league round.

Badminton: Manipur will meet Assam in the final of the senior team event of the North East Inter-State Zone

Badminton Championship, 2015, played at MBA Indoor Stadium, DM College Campus. 

In the semi-final team event, Manipur beat Mizoram 3-2 while Assam beat Meghalaya 3-0. In the junior team event,

Assam beat Sikkim 3-0 while Manipur beat Arunachal Pradesh 3-2 . 
AMFA ban

The All Manipur Football Association has dropped Sirti FC, Chandel and Youth Organisation Sporting Club, 
Khurai teams for fielding ineligible players in the ongoing 20th Winner’s Cup for Men played on home and away basis. 

The AMFA executive council, after examining protests lodged by Sirti FC Chandel against YOSC Khurai regarding the eligibility of a player, found out that two of the latter’s players, Moyosing Khongreiwo and Yami Longva, are registered players of Langsning FC and Shillong Lajong FC. 

On further verification, the executive council also found out that six Sirti FC Chandel players — Zingthang Shinglai, Ng. Beshorjit, TS Jaunand, J.S. Alover, Shelminthang and Atle — are registered players of DSA Kakching.  
The AMFA  decided to drop both the teams from the meet for gross misconduct and violation of rules as well tarnishing the image of Winner’s Cup,  

On the other hand, Sagolband United beat Jsongtun Youth Club 2-1 in the 20th 

Winner’s Cup played at SAI NERC Takyel ground. Inao Yumnam and Aboy Monoharmauym scored for Sagolband

United team while the lone goal for Jsongtun team was fetched by Seiginmang Vaiphei.
