Guwahati, Nov. 3: Local lad Anurag Buragohain clinched double crowns in the first leg of the fifth India Club AITA Championship Series on the India Club premises today.

In the boys’ under-12 singles final, Anurag Buragohain got the better of statemate Anuranan Choudhury 6-3, 6-2. Along with Anchit Gogoi, Anurag beat Anuranan Choudhury and Pratik Hazarika 4-2, 4-2 in the boys’ under-12 doubles final.

In the girls’ under-12 singles final, Kristi Boro of Assam defeated Ishika Chakma of NF Railway 6-3,1-6,10-7 to clinch the title.

School cricket: The fifth Sitaram Agarwala Under-16 Inter-School Cricket Tournament organised by Bud Cricket Club will see Royal Global School take on Little Flower School in the opener at Judges Field here on Wednesday.

Challenger’s Trophy: Hosts St Francis De Sales Higher Secondary School, Satgaon, annexed the boys and girls’ titles of the 8th SFS Challenger’s Trophy All-Guwahati Inter-School Basketball Tournament yesterday.

St Francis defeated Sarla Birla Gyan Jyoti 38-19 in the boys’ final and Kendriya Vidyalaya Maligaon 51-37 in the girls’ final.
