Guwahati, Nov. 5: Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Nabam Tuki has sought help from Goa football club Narvelim Sporting Club to develop the sport and hunt talent in the northeastern state.

Attending the valedictory function of the 32nd All-Goa Inter-Village Football Tournament for Gold/Silver Rolling Trophy at Margao in Goa yesterday, Tuki observed that Goa and Arunachal Pradesh could foster ties in the sporting arena, particularly in football — a game loved, played and worshipped in both the states.

Tuki also paid tribute to the late Joaqim Fernandes — father of Luizinho Faleiro — in whose memory this tournament is organised to promote and propagate football at all levels in the state. “I must congratulate Luizinho Falerio and his family for dedicating their time and energy in shaping the career of budding soccer talents,” he said.
