Silchar, April 2: Three persons died and two others were seriously injured in a road accident near Keifang in Mizoram last evening when a car (bearing the number MZ 201 J 2313) fell into a gorge after the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The victims are Arijit Sarkar, 42, manager of the Saitual branch of the State Bank of India and a permanent resident of Calcutta, Anngn Lalthlanhua, 30, cashier of the branch and C. Lalhmangatha, a local resident and the owner of the car.
The car's driver, Vanlahrnala, 29, and Ezeklel Lalhrual Huanga, 35, were severely injured and have been rushed to a nearby hospital.
Police sources said they were returning to Saitual from Aizawl.
The car was badly damaged and the injured were stuck inside.
They were pulled out by the driver of a Tata Sumo which was passing near the spot.
