Guwahati: Tata Motors launched its Tata Nexon HyprDrive Self Shift Gears at Kamakhya Motors here on Monday, as a part of its nationwide launch.

According to Tata Motors, the Nexon is the first automatic transmission (AMT) option in India with three drive modes - Eco, Sport and City.

The Nixon's manual Tip-tronic feature allows the driver to shift gears manually while enjoying a clutch-free driving experience.

For driving in the hills, the car has a Smart Hill Assist feature that prevents it from rolling back on uphill drives during bumper-to-bumper traffic.

Tata Motors sales, marketing and customer support vice-president S.N. Barman said, "Our focus is to introduce products and services that not only enhance the brand but simultaneously align well with the rising aspirations of customer segments. AMT is ideally suited for India's traffic conditions, reducing the stress of driving at an affordable price without compromising on fuel efficiency."

The Nexon HyprDrive has been launched at a starting price of Rs 9.78 lakh, ex-showroom Guwahati, for the petrol variant (1.2L turbocharged Revotron) and Rs 10.76 lakh for the diesel variant (1.5L turbocharged Revotron).
