Tinsukia, Jan. 31: GS Lohia Girls' College is organising a mini marathon here on Thursday at 6am to promote blood donation.

The marathon, featuring two groups - one exclusively for married women and the other for girl students - will cover a stretch of almost 1km, starting from GNB Road and ending on the college premises after covering a stretch on Rangagora road.

"People usually are reluctant to donate blood. Hence, we came up with the idea of a marathon, to create awareness among the masses, to donate blood and save lives. A blood donation camp will be organised at 10am onwards on the college premises, post-marathon," programme co-ordinator Ravina Bajaj told The Telegraph.

"We are expecting over 300 participants to join the event," Ravina said. "With two days still to go, we have already registered over 200 participants," he added.
