P. Khel first in clash of clans

Kohima, Jan. 9: P. Khel came from the behind today to retain the overall title at the 56th track and field meet, organised by the Kohima Village Sports Association among competitors from the four khels (clans) of the world’s second-largest village.

The winners won 11 gold medals, followed by T. Khel with nine. L. Khel and D. Khel bagged six and five golds respectively. P. Khel won two gold medals through Ketoubeizo Sote and Kezevinuo Theünuo in the men and women’s cross-country races on the concluding day.

Keneilhoulie Solo (T. Khel) and Vizovor Liezietsu (L. Khel) took the silver and bronze in the men’s section, while Menguokhrieü Kire (D. Khel) and Rüüvinuo Mere (P. Khel) bagged the second and third position in the women’s cross-country.

D. Khel made a clean sweep of the Naga wrestling event, capturing the first four positions with 49 points. The title went to Kezhalelie, who retained it for the fourth time in a row. Razouvolie Kuotsu, Zeü Kire and Pfulikhrie Keretsü became second, third and fourth. T. Khel bagged the overall athletics title.
