NSCN-IM opens office in Delhi

Dimapur, Dec. 11: The National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah) has opened a co-ordination office in the posh Lodhi Road area of New Delhi, becoming the first militant organisation to do so.

A top NSCN (I-M) leader Akaho Assumi today said the ?Government of the People?s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN) office? was established in Delhi three days ago to ease the process of ongoing talks and to liase with the Centre at political levels. ?I have been posted in the Delhi office with a new designation and, as of now, my brief is to work there till our collective leaders stay in Nagaland,? said Assumi. A former ?deputy secretary? of the organisation, his new designation will be the ?deputy secretary of the GPRN?.

Official sources said the office would basically be a liaison office like the Ceasefire Monitoring Office of the outfit at Dimapur. NSCN (I-M) sources said the new office would be vested with modern communication equipment.
