Jorhat, March 17: A Class X student, Trishav Bordoloi, was found lying in a pool of blood on the premises of their apartment building, Satish Residency, in Dohabora Chook early this morning.
His parents, both teachers, have lodged an FIR with Jorhat town police station here. Trishav had appeared for his HSLC exams from Bagchung Don Bosco.
The apartment night watchman discovered the body when he opened the apartment doors and went to unlock the gates at 5.30am.
There are three blocks of flats and the body was lying near a flat close to the one in which he lived.
K. Rajbongshi, officer in-charge of Jorhat police station, said it was only after the post-mortem report was received that they could ascertain what had happened. Preliminary probe suggested that he died of a head wound. They were also investigating the cell phone records of Trishav.
The police said his mother had returned at 5.15am from Guwahati and found his bed all made up, as if he had not slept in it. Trishav's father told her that the boy had told him last night that he would be going to the gym the next morning.
Principal of Bagchung Don Bosco said Trishav was a good student and also very good in co-curricular activities. "Students of Class X told me today that he had messaged them good luck when he came to know that they would be playing in a cricket match at JDSA grounds today.Last year, he had been in the team," the principal said.
He said even his batchmates had planned to go to some scenic spots as Trishav had got a new camera. There was no question of him being depressed or not doing well in exams, the principal added.
