Guwahati, Jan. 30: It was not only a proud moment but also the most exciting and memorable experience for the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya Khanapara, when they won the The Telegraph Know and Grow Quiz here today.
“I had won several quiz competitions earlier. But today’s was like a dream come true as it was conducted by Derek O’ Brien who changed and revolutionised the face of quizzing in the country. In my childhood I used to watch Bournvita Quiz Contest conducted by him on the television. Since then I had a dream of facing a barrage of questions from this brilliant quiz master,” Indrayudh Bandyopadhyay, a Class VIII student of the triumphant Khanapara team said.
Bandyopadhyay and his teammates prepared very hard for the quiz contest as O’ Brien is known to throw questions at participants from unexpected fields.
Altogether 37 schools from the city and its outskirts participated in the quiz held at Don Bosco School at Panbazar.
While, the first prize went to KV Khanapara, Little Flower School, Hatigaon, was ranked second followed by Maria’s Public School in the third place.
The teams from Delhi Public School, Faculty High School and Don Bosco School came fourth, fifth and sixth.
