Guwahati, March 4: Congress MLA from Assam, Rupjyoti Kurmi, today wrote to the CEO of Reliance Industries Limited, Mukesh Ambani, addressing him as the "guardian to (Narendra) Modi ji", to remind the Prime Minister to fulfil his promises made during the 2014 Lok Sabha election campaign.
"Being the Prime Minister of India, Modi ji was supposed to focus and do publicity of BSNL, which is under the government of India, but he instead advertised for Jio Network, which is owned by you. We can see a clear picture of you having great love and respect for the Prime Minister and it seems that you are like a guardian to him," Kurmi, MLA from Mariani in Upper Assam's Jorhat district, stated in his letter.
He highlighted 10 promises, which he said, the Prime Minister made during the 2014 campaign but were yet unfulfilled.
"Modi ji had promised to bring back black money, waive agriculture loan, provide employment to two crore youths every year, take strict measures against Pakistan, ignore Chinese goods. Instead, he brought in all sorts of woes through demonetisation," Kurmi said.
He also reminded how Modi, who propelled the BJP to a decisive victory unseating the Congress at the Centre, said Assam would get priority in development issues but the current BJP government in the state has not been able to supply books to poor school students. "It shows the present state government is a failure, so Mukesh ji please request Modiji, on behalf of the people of Assam, to allot funds for our state," Kurmi said, adding: "I know you (Ambani) are a true patriot like I am and you will remind our Prime Minister about his promises."
