Guwahati, Feb. 1: Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khanapara, pipped Modern English School (B) by 114 runs in a match of the first D.N. Gohain and Dharmendra Sarma inter-school (under-15) prize-money cricket tournament at Dispur ground here today.
Put to bat first, the KVK boys were all out for 167 in 19.2 overs, with Suman Saikia scoring a half-century. Modern School boys were bundled out for 53 in 13.3 overs. Suman Saikia scored 54 runs off 45 deliveries, while Anjan Medhi scored 33 for KVK.
Jitendra Deori and Suraj Konwar of Modern School took three wickets each. Dhirajdeep Gogoi, with nine runs, was the topscorer for Modern School while Jyotishman Khatoniar of KVK claimed five wickets for 12 runs to be named Man of the Match. Delhi Public School (B) will play Little Flower High School in tomorrow’s match.
