World Thang Ta

Imphal, March 14: India increased their gold count to five in the 1st World Thang Ta Championship at Khuman Lampak indoor stadium today.

S. Indira Devi of India defeated Malaysian Silam Borasi for the gold in the junior girls’ 48kg phunaba I while Shahnay of India won the bronze. In the junior girls’ 44kg phunaba II, K. Bindyarani Chanu beat Nalini Srigarthan of Malaysia for the gold.

In the junior girls’ phunaba II 48kg category, K. Anupama Chand of India wrested the gold from Silam Borasi of Malaysia. Amina Mihraj landed the fifth gold in the junior girls’ phunaba I 44kg category. H. Ibemnungshi Devi of India bagged the bronze.
