Guwahati: Hosts India lifted the team title in the first South Asia Regional Junior Badminton Championship blanking out Nepal 5-0 in the final at Deshbhakta Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium here on Tuesday evening.
In the finals, Aryaman Tandon and Ashmita Chaliha won the boys' and girls' singles matches beating Dipesh Dhami (21-9, 21-15) and Rashila Mahajan (21-9, 21-6) respectively.
In the boys' doubles, the Indian duo of Arintap Dasgupta and Krishna Prasad G. overcame Dhami and Nabin Shrestha 19-21, 21-14, 21-11.
In the girls' doubles, Mithula K. and Aakarshi Kashyap got a walkover against Jessica Gurung and Sunayana Mukhiya.
The pair of Krishna Prasad and Mithula also got a walkover against the Nepal duo of Gautam Kathayat and Jessica in the mixed doubles match.
The open events of the tournament will get under way from Wednesday and the meet will conclude on Friday.
