Inter-club soccer

Kokrajhar, Aug. 3: Hainary Sports Club defeated Sikhna Afat 3-1 in an A-division league match of Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) inter-club soccer league at KDSA ground in Kokrajhar today.

The first half, though a tight contest, ended goalless.

In the second half, Hainary striker Joshep Ekka scored a hattrick in the 50th, 56th and 75th minutes.

Swmdwn Basumatary reduced the margin for Sikhna in the 70th minute.

U-16 cricket: City Cricket Coaching Centre is organising the 1st All Guwahati Padma Kumar Saikia prize money (under-16) inter-school cricket tournament at Dispur parade ground from August 7. About 20 schools will compete.

Meeting: A meet of athletics, handball, volleyball, kabaddi and football will be held under the Panchayat Yuva Krida Khel Abhiyan (PYYKA) at Chandrapur block on August 20 and 21.
