Imphal, Aug. 12: Huyel Lalong Thang Ta, Yumnam Huidrom, collected 10 gold medals on the third day of 24th State-Level Thang Ta Championship, 2013 held at Khuman Lampak indoor stadium today.

In the senior boys’ Phunaba Anisuba category, the HLTA Yumnam Huidrom grabbed six gold medals through O. Netajit in the 52kg bout, A. Thoiba in the 60kg, Y.Khagemba in 75kg, Y. Ruhinikumar in 80kg, David Yumnam in 85kg and Y. Dipendra Singh in the 85kg bout.

In the sub-junior girls’ Phunaba Ama, L. Punilkumari Devi of HLTA Yumnam Huidrom took the gold in the 53kg bout while Y. Dayarani added another gold in the 29kg category.

In the junior boys’ phunaba ama, O. Shankar and Y. Sadananda fetched gold medals for HLTA Yumnam Huidrom.

Pahulasi Kwakeithel also landed six gold medals.

In the sub-junior girls’ Phunaba Ama, A. Hepani, Julia Khomdram and K. Pinky Devi got gold medals in various weight categories.

In the sub-junior boys’ Phunaba Ama, L. Henthoiba grabbed a gold medal.

Felicitation: Junior Indian women hockey skipper Sushila Chanu and three other players were felicitated by Manipur chief minister O. Ibobi Singh with Rs 2 lakh each for winning bronze medals in the ERGO Hockey Junior Women World Cup, 2013 that concluded recently in Germany.

The three other players were defender Th. Pinky Devi and forwards M. Lily Chanu and N. Sanarik Devi.

Asia Cup squad: Manipur Hockey said Kh. Kothajit and K. Chinglensana have been included in the Indian team for the Asia Cup to be held at Ipoh, Malaysia, from August 24.
