Kohima, Nov. 7: Nagaland Bharat Scouts and Guides today celebrated Flag-cum-Foundation Day at Raj Bhavan here.
Governor Nikhil Kumar, who was the chief guest at the ceremony, handed over the awards to 29 scouts and 23 guides.
He congratulated the 52 boys and girls for their excellent performances and contributions to society.
The Scout and Guides movement has become a universal phenomenon. It is the embodiment of discipline, service to nation and service to man, the governor, who is the chief patron of the State Bharat Scouts and Guides, said.
Kumar wished that the people would join hands towards better governance, social progress, prosperity and development of the state.
The chief commissioner of Nagaland Bharat Scouts and Guides, Khyomo Lothas, delivered the introductory speech on the occasion.
