Guwahati, Sept. 26: Durga Puja means pandal hopping, spending time with the family, catching up with friends and the best part, of course, is eating out.

Restaurants in the city have done their bit to ensure sumptuous lunches, dinners or something to nibble during these four days with friends and family.

From restaurants serving Bengali cuisine to fast food outlets, they have something special to offer.

While some eateries have organised food festivals, others have prepared special menu, offering different items on different days of the Puja.

6 Ballygunge Place, the Bengali restaurant chain at Nalini Plaza in Lachit Nagar, is offering a specially prepared festive menu called Pujar Special Buffet till Dashami.

The exclusive Bengali delicacies curated by celebrity chef and co-owner Sushanta Sengupta include kochuri, a variety of rice, a blend of dishes made with different seasonal vegetables, signature non-vegetarian dishes and desserts. The buffet is priced at Rs 915 per person (all inclusive).

Omago, another authentic Bengali cuisine restaurant at Ffort building, near KFC at Kachari Basti, has engaged the services of a Calcutta-based chef to spice up the Puja menu. Its vegetarian thali costs Rs 300, all inclusive. The non-vegetarian items will be add-ons and have to be ordered separately.

With the start of the festive season, Foodie's World, a fast-food outlet which specialises in pizzas, burgers and fried chicken, at Rishav Plaza in Rehabari, has also unveiled several special offers with a discount of 15 per cent on any bill above Rs 500.

Rang De Basanti Urban Dhaba, the new Punjabi food eatery in Christian Basti, has items like chicken tikka basanti, mahi ambarsaria and fauji dhaba de chhole for the Pujas. A meal for a couple will cost around Rs 1,400.

Popular Cantonese restaurant Yo! China in Lachit Nagar is organising a food festival during Durga Puja. The sea food festival menu includes lobster crab, king fish, basa and prawns in a variety of sauces. Customers can choose their preferred fish along with a choice of sauce. The bar-cum-restaurant is offering special discounts on drinks. A meal for two will cost about Rs 1,000.
