The flow of good energy into one’s home is dependent on the invitation we give to it and the manner in which we decorate the entrance. The first impression that one has on visiting a home should naturally be the best. This brings in opportunities and contacts with resourceful people.
The nameplate should always be placed at the eye level. This helps us attain heights. The nameplate can be compared to the human body, where the level of the feet is connected with the past. The stomach level is the present and the head is our future, where all our hopes and dreams are stored.
The nameplate of an individual, office or shop, if placed at a low level, rarely helps them to rise in life.
Prominent, attractive signboards, placed at a high level of a showroom, ensures future prosperity. Every house, office or shop needs a definite identity. If a person has difficulty in locating your address, then it is equally difficult for opportunities to knock on your door.
The entrance should always be solid, giving us a sense of security. The gate should not have a downward depression in the centre, as they signify a downward trend in life. Instead, a plain rectangular gate or arch-shaped one symbolises growth in life and ensures stability.
The entrance door should always be well located. It should be demarcated by either placing plants or statues, and should be well lit.
It is better to have homes or offices that have ascending stairs leading to your front door .
In feng shui, it is believed that one’s fortune changes with these rising or descending stairs.
The entrance with the main door should never open up to a wall as this acts like a barrier to the positive energy entering one’s house. An inviting picture placed on such a wall will attract the energy into the house. This can also be a picture of deep woods, which creates an illusion of depth.
Another main fault of the construction, according to feng shui, would be if one’s entrance to the house opens directly to the staircase inside. As the movement of positive energy in such houses becomes too fast and rushes up the stairs very quickly without getting a chance to circulate at the level floor. Staircases facing the entrance in such a manner are also symbolic of energy rolling out of the house. This disturbs the balance of energy, which is not fruitful for the resident of the house.
