Feb. 11: Don Bosco Institute of Management (DBIM) was voted the best B-school at “Quasofiesta, 2013”, a three-day management event organised by the Gauhati Commerce College Centre of Management Studies.
The institute earned the top slot after going past eight other B-schools of the city in the event that concluded at Gauhati Commerce College on Sunday. This is the fourth time that DBIM, a constituent of Don Bosco Institute (DBI), Kharghuli, has won top honours in a management fest since 2010.
“Our institute was voted the best B-School among nine others that took part at Quasofiesta 2013 that concluded at Gauhati Commerce College yesterday. Prior to this year’s event, DBIM was voted the best B-school in three previous management events — at AIM (Assam Institute of Management) Quest 2010, AIM Quest 2011 and Quasofiesta 2010. Last year, we came second at AIM Quest as well,” Fr. Abhilash V.J., associate director of DBI, told The Telegraph today.
Royal Business School, Northeastern Regional Institute of Management, Gauhati Commerce College, Gauhati University, Girijananda Institute of Management and Technology, Third Eye Down Town University and Darwin are the eight other institutes that took part in the meet.
Twenty-five students from DBIM took part in various competitions like business plan (Thinkers), debate (Mahayudh), case study (Fundas of Management), presentations on share market, advertisement (Mad Ads), Miss Quasofiesta and Paintings.
“Our students won accolades in six of the eight events that were held in this year’s meet. They bagged first prize in case study, advertisement, share market and Miss Quasofiesta and the second slots in business plan and debate,” Fr Johnson Parackal, rector, DBIM, said.
“This success not only endorses DBIM’s teaching methodologies and techniques but also speaks volumes about the individual growth each of our students has achieved,” Parackal said.
The Don Bosco Society under Assam Don Bosco University constituted Don Bosco Institute of Management in 2009.
“We follow a unique delivery model of student-centric management studies built around the same core principles which has made the educational services offered by the Salesians of Don Bosco a success. Our focus and efforts have always been centred on the unique individual skills showcased by our students. The institute also provides an environment, which promotes self-belief and determination. This in keeping with our motto of ‘Building dreams and shaping lives’,” he added.
