N Bordoloi cricket

Dibrugarh, Dec. 25: Tinsukia Railways will take on Dibrugarh Cricket Coaching Centre (DCCC) in the final of the Margherita District Youth Congress-organised 3rd Nandadhar Bordoloi cricket tournament at the Margherita Public HS School playground.

In the second semi-final played today, DCCC defeated Jangam Cricket Coaching Centre, Sivasagar, by five wickets.

In the 30-overs-a-side match, DCCC won the toss and decided to field first. Jangam scored 118 runs losing all their wickets in 30 overs. Samimuddin Ahmed topscored with an unbeaten 34, while Rajpal Saikia made 29. For Dibrugarh, Pankaj Saikia picked up four wickets giving away 15 runs. He was also declared the Man of the Match. Ranji player Saurav Bhagawati, too, took three wickets for 15 runs.

The Dibrugarh men got the required runs for victory in 25.4 overs. Prasanta Mech scored 43, while Ajoy Mazumdar scored an unbeaten 21. Saurav Bhagawati, too, contributed 20. For Jangam, Rajpal Saikia took two wickets.
