Feb. 26: Individuals dreaming of dancing their way to fame should get ready for auditions to the national level reality show, India’s Dancing Superstar.
Over 2,000 people from the Northeast will try their luck for the first edition of India’s Dancing Superstar at Ganesh Mandir Stadium in the city tomorrow.
After making it to the reality dance show that will be aired on STAR Plus, these aspiring youngsters can hope to become household names with viewers across the country cheering and voting for their victory.
After the popular dance show for celebrity couples, Nach Baliye, Star Plus has launched India’s Dancing Superstar to provide a platform for talented dancers of all ages to showcase their dancing skills.
The auditions for the show are being held in 18 cities across the country, including Guwahati.
While several reality dance shows are being aired on different television channels, this show claims to be different from the others.
Any person of any age group can participate in it, provided they have the skills. Moreover, they can participate in the show either individually or in a group.
Bollywood choreographer Geeta Kapur will be the judge of the show.
“We believe in keeping with the changing times and propagating the new within the traditional. India’s Dancing Superstar is in sync with this ideology. Since the world of dance has changed and different dance forms are constantly evolving, we have turned the rules around. The show has no age limit as anyone with talent can participate in it. The participants can also present any form of traditional or contemporary dance form in the show,” said Nachiket Pantavaidya, the general manager of STAR Plus.
“We want this show to be India’s biggest celebration of dance and are hopeful that the people will like it. Through this show we want to provide a platform to the most passionate and talented dancers of the country,” said Pantavaidya.
Right from classical dance forms to contemporary dance forms, hip-hop, salsa and Bollywood inspired dance styles, the participants can perform any dance.
Judges will be arriving from Mumbai to judge the promising dancers. However, the organisers have kept the name of the judges under wraps.
