Dhemaji: Several organisations on Thursday met superintendent of police, West Siang district, Eba Lingu, and submitted a memorandum, demanding necessary directions to investigating officer of Aalo for filing a chargesheet against one Jumde Geyi as early as possible and not to grant him bail.
Geyi is accused of raping a minor, aged around 11, on November 5. He was arrested on November 7 and is now in police custody.
Aalo is the headquarters of West Siang district in Arunachal Pradesh.
Leaders of the Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society West Siang Unit, Paktu Ao Youth Welfare Association, Student Union Movement of All Arunachal, West Siang unit, and the Memo Ao Youth Association were among several parties who met Lingu.
They demanded speeding up of the probe so that the culprit is punished.
