Assam govt to set up pay panel

The Assam government today decided to constitute the Seventh Assam Pay and Productivity Pay Commission 2015.

Guwahati, June 2: The Assam government today decided to constitute the Seventh Assam Pay and Productivity Pay Commission 2015.

The objective of the commission is to study the principles governing the structure of emoluments and service conditions of the state government employees, excluding the All India Services, posts drawing University Grant Commission (UGC)/ All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) pay scales of degree colleges/engineering colleges/medical colleges/polytechnics as well as officers of judicial services.

The commission, headed by retired IAS officer P.P. Verma, will submit its report within 15 months.

The commission will also look into areas where skills of employees can be improved besides examining the existing amenities given to state government employees such as age superannuation, medical benefits and daily allowances, an official statement today said.
