Aizawl: Jet Airways launched its first direct flight from Aizawl to New Delhi on Monday.

The flight will operate from Aizawl to New Delhi on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from New Delhi to Aizawl on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Mizoram Youth Commission chairman Joseph Lalhlimpui, who inaugurated the flight in the presence of Jet Airways and government officials, said the new flight would offer a faster communication link to the national capital.

Lalhlimpui urged Mizoram's youths to prepare themselves well for the opportunity to work with the airline operator and asked Jet Airways officials to recruit more youths from the state.

He also asked the officials to give due importance to flight timings and regular service.
