Dibrugarh/Hailakandi, Dec. 28: Tinsukia tallied three points by virtue of a 62-run first-innings lead from their drawn Nuruddin Ahmed Trophy senior inter-district cricket tournament match against Bongaigaon at the District Sports Association stadium in Dibrugarh today, reports our Dibrugarh correspondent.
Tinsukia batted first and were all out for 152 in 45 overs in the first innings yesterday. In reply, Bongaigaon were bundled out for 90. Tinsukia resumed their second innings at overnight 56 for one and were all out for 187 in 53.2 overs today. Dipankar Banerjee topscored with 40, slamming nine hits to the fence. Ajay Gohain scored 37, hitting four boundaries, while Amit Singh contributed 35, with five boundaries.
For Bongaigaon, Sunil Ranjan Gogoi hauled four wickets for 62 runs and Santanu Dhar picked up three. Pradip Sarkar also claimed two wickets.
Needing 250 for the win, Bongaigaon were 141 for seven in 48 overs at the end of the match. Fazlur Rahman scored 86, laced with 10 boundaries, and Gobind Rajbonshi contributed 18. Ajay Gohain scalped two wickets.
Elsewhere in Silchar, Jorhat registered a 151-run victory against Morigaon at Satindra Mohan Dev Stadium on Saturday, our Hailakandi correspondent reports.
Resuming the first innings, in reply to Jorhat's first-innings total of 142, at overnight 97 for seven, Morigaon were bundled out for 106 within 20 minutes of play on the second day on Saturday.
Tusenfa Borgohain hauled five wickets for 28 runs, while Dayal Krishna Dutta picked up three for 20.
Jorhat declared their second innings for 216 for five, half an hour after lunch. Pritam Bora scored a hurricane 86 off 54 balls, hitting eight fours and six sixes. Opener Abhisekh Krishna also scored 56, hitting eight fours and a six. Sonjyoti Nath claimed two wickets for 43 runs.
Chasing a target of 243 runs, Morigaon were bundled out for 101 in 22.3 overs in their second innings.
Middle order batsman Sahidur Rahman topscored with 32 runs, while Jivan Barman scored 17 runs. Dayal Krishna Dutta and Tusenfa Borgohain took four wickets each, giving away 25 and 57 runs respectively. Anshuman Sarma picked up two for 19 runs.
