Jamshedpur, March 1: In the days of financial gloom if you still want to feel like a king, head for the royal spread of biryani and kebabs at Hotel Ganga Regency in Sakchi.
Both the restaurants at the hotel — Gossip and Gourmet — have come up with specialities from the land of nawabs.
“Most people here love Chinese or Indian cuisine, and biryanis and kebabs attract a large number of gourmets. People who love to eat cannot ignore Lucknow and Hyderabadi cuisine. It is still the most sought-after cuisine in the steel city,” said food and beverage manager of Hotel Ganga Regency Sony Joseph.
On offer are mouth-watering fish, prawn, chicken, mutton and lamb kebabs, like the Chooje Potali kebab, (chicken pieces roasted in an earthen oven with spices in a separate bag) or the Lahori Tandoori Murg (whole chicken marinated in a rich creamy sauce).
“We have used traditional earthen ovens to get the authentic taste of kebabs,” Joseph revealed.
But vegetarians need not despair. The Paneer Aatish-E-Noor, (cottage cheese mixed with coriander, mint, hung curd, delicately marinated with spices) or the Paneer Makhmali Tikka, (cottage cheese, cashewnut, cheese and hung curd marinated with spices for a sweet and spicy taste) preparations will set their taste buds on fire. A vegetarian biryani, Subz Zard Biryani, will also be on offer along with chicken, mutton and lamb biryanis.
Prices, ranging from Rs 95 to Rs 165, have been fixed at affordable rates. The festival will continue till March 8.
