Jamshedpur: The parking area outside Tatanagar railway station would soon have more parking space for cars and two-wheelers.

Railway officials on Friday said a separate area would be earmarked for Ola and other cab services. "We want to stre-amline the parking slot which is the biggest in the entire Cha-kradharpur railway division. Apart from separate places for App-based cars, more place would be earmarked for two wheelers keeping in view its rising numbers," said Bhaskar, spokesperson of Chakradharpur railway division.

Currently the station can accommodate over 200 cars and 1,000 two-wheelers. Once the new arrangements are made in the western periphery of the station, it can house another 200 bikes and 50 app-based cabs.

Railway sources at Tatanagar said a team from Chakradharpur railway division would visit the station next week to finalise the logistics of parking. During the inspection, they would also identify places for LED illuminations and installation of a couple of fountains in the parking area.

"The station is a gateway to the city. Beautifying the parking lot outside the station and streamlining vehicle movement would impress the visitors," said A Sengupta, a senior official of Tatanagar.

Appreciating the move, general secretary of Chhot-anagpur Passenger Association Anil Tiwary said, "It's a good decision to provide a separate slot for App-based cabs."
