Dhanbad, March 31: The Mineral Area Development Authority (Mada) has decided to serve notices to 31 builders and market complex and residential apartment owners for violating their approved maps and flouting building regulations.
Most of these buildings have added a few floors without approval thus extending the permitted height and have left no vacant space as required. Some have even additional construction on the parking space without approval, Mada sources said.
According to executive engineer of Mada David Kujur, 20 per cent of the deviation of the passed maps are allowed after paying certain amount of penalty but almost all the builders have flouted the rules by more than 30-40 per cent of the approved plans thus inviting action. The action may include demolition and a huge penalty.
The managing director of Mada, Awani Bhushan Pati, said all the builders who will be found flouting the rules of the approved plans will be penalised.
?No one is above law. Unauthorised constructions and deviations are causing problems in the smooth movement of traffic, so Mada will have to take a tough stand,? said Pati.
